Special Olympics Australia XI National Games
In April 2010 South Australia will welcome athletes with an intellectual disability from all Australian States and Territories for a week of companionship, excitement and competition at the Special Olympics IX National Games.
Over 850 Special Olympics athletes and their coaches will be hosted at the official 'Olympic Village' at Adelaide Shores Resort - one of South Australia's premier holiday precincts.
Participants will have the opportunity to take part in the spectacular Official Opening Ceremony on Monday 19 April and then enjoy a week of spectacular competition in 12 Olympic Sports at a range of competition venues around the city.
On the final day of competition, all athletes, coaches, officials, families and volunteers will assemble for the emotional and celebratory Closing Ceremony on 24 April 2010, which will be undertaken with the famous South Australian festive flair.

GEN Y SONGSTRESS ANIKIKO RESONATES WITH A FUSION OF SEXY SOUND.
The next big thing on Sydney's sound waves - Czech-Aussie singer/songwriter AniKiko launches her new EP 'Soul Naked Before You' at Notes in Newtown on Thurs April 8.The voice of AniKiko has been described as "the new Portishead of the Y Generation". Performing throughout Sydney, Europe and Japan, AniKiko's sound has a sassy and playful edge; her performance and music "wraps you up in silk and drapes the sound of velvet right through your ears", "leaves chills, chuckles and even tears". "It's absolutely captivating!", as reported by audiences throughout.
AniKiko's background is in holistic medicine, having practised and taught kinesiology for all of her career life. She discovered the power voice and music have on healing, especially the power of her own voice and music. Since then, her focus has been all about sound and music, singing, writing and producing.

Everyone from kids to kids-at-heart are invited to discover the amazing Maize Maze - the largest of its kind in the Southern hemisphere - when it opens for ten weeks from Saturday 20 February.
Navigate the twists, turns, false trails and dead-ends of this larger-than-life puzzle, carved from more than 100,000 stalks of corn over 2.5 acres. This year's 'carnival' theme will reveal a maze of roller coasters, ferris wheels, a big top and balloons, created using state-of-the-art GPS technology and surgeon-like precision with secateurs.
