Online shopping guide

woman shopping articleShopping online can offer greater convenience, greater selection and in some cases better prices. And for busy mums and dads, it can be a godsend, freeing you from maddening supermarket queues and carpark nightmares. You don't need to feel under pressure to buy just because you won't get another chance to time to yourself to shop in peace again for a while - because you get to do so much of the research from the comfort of your sofa with a coffee just when you have a spare few minutes, you can look until you find the right deal for you.

LIke checking out the sales? Here are just some of the sales on this first week of October (information from www.lasoo.com.au):

  • Mid Season Sale, at Myer
  • Christmas Looks for Less, at BIG W (the first Christmas catalogue for the year!)
  • Health Discounts, Beauty Savings, at Coles
  • Living Room With Life, at IKEA
  • Babies R Us Spring Sale, at Toys R Us
  • New Spring Living Range, at Fantastic Furniture
  • Your Sofa, Your Choice, at Plush
  • Massive Home Sale, at Target

Just like shopping in a store, or over the phone, there are some basic rules to follow when you shop online to ensure the best possible shopping experience. Safe online shopping is all about doing your homework.

If you’ve never shopped online, start with recommendations from family and friends, and always try to find out as much as possible about the company before you hand over your credit card details. It is also a good idea to stick with Australian sites because that way you know you are covered by Australian law if something goes wrong.

When you’re confident you’ve found a trustworthy site and you’re ready to buy, here are some tips:

  • Check the description of the product, price — including delivery costs, currency and taxes — and warranty details. Good shopping sites should give you the opportunity to confirm or reject your order before you pay for it.
  • Choose a payment method — credit card, cheque, money order, Bpay etc. In most cases it’s safest to pay by credit card — Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club and America Express all have chargeback schemes and won’t hold you liable for undelivered goods or unauthorised transactions. Check the exact terms and conditions of your credit card as schemes can vary, however.
  • Confirm the site has a secure checkout— Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software is the most common technology used to secure shopping sites. It encrypts or scrambles your personal information as it travels over the web.
  • Check where your details will be stored later — some online businesses store them on a secure server or destroy them once the transaction has been processed.

If you are nervous about using your credit card on the internet, some Australian sites allow you to call through with your credit card details or you can make a direct bank deposit.

I love shopping online. No Ques, no carpark hassles, best of all you can shop around for the best price without ever leaving your home. I have 3 kids 4 & under so Online shopping is a godsend for me, I've been buying all the kids birthday & xmas presents online for years now. Also the prices are cheaper online even with postage included in the total, you just have to find the best sites with a good reputation. I recommend online shopping to any parent, the other good thing is that you don't have to worry about shopping tantrums (because your kids want something they see & you say no). You can do it while they're asleep or at school etc.

Some specialists argue that mortgage loans aid people to live the way they want, just because they are able to feel free to buy needed stuff. Furthermore, some banks offer car loan for all people.

When you're in a not good position and have got no cash to go out from that, you will need to receive the business loans. Because that will aid you emphatically. I take financial loan every year and feel OK because of this.
